Ojaoba (“we”) lets a business turn a price list in Google Sheets into an ordering page where customers send orders on WhatsApp. This page explains what we collect and why. It is written to be read, not to hide things.

Shop owners: what we collect

What we ask Google for, and what we do with it

When you sign in, we ask for your basic profile (name and email) and one Drive permission called drive.file. That permission lets us create the product sheet and set it to “anyone with the link can view”. It only covers files that we create. We cannot see or change anything else in your Google Drive.

We use the Google access token once, to create your sheet, and it is not stored in our database. After that, your shop reads the product names and prices from the sheet’s public link.

Ojaoba’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone other than the services that run Ojaoba.

Your product sheet is public by design

For your shop to read the sheet, the sheet is shared as “anyone with the link can view”. Keep only product names and prices in it. Do not put private information such as cost prices or customer details in that file.

Customers who use a shop

We do not ask customers for an account, and we do not collect or store the contents of their orders. When a customer taps “Send order on WhatsApp”, their phone opens WhatsApp with the order written out, and it is sent from their WhatsApp to the shop’s WhatsApp. We never see the message. The shop page remembers a customer’s basket and name on their own phone only, so it is still there when they come back.

Payments

Shop owners pay through Paystack. Card and bank details go directly to Paystack and are never seen or stored by us. We keep a record of each payment (amount, currency, date and Paystack’s reference) so we can switch your shop on, show your renewal date and keep accounts.

Cookies and storage

The setup dashboard uses one sign-in cookie, which is needed to keep you signed in. It is encrypted and expires after 14 days. Shop pages use your phone’s local storage to remember the product list and basket. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Where your data is kept

Shop details are stored in a database hosted by our infrastructure providers (Neon for the database, Vercel for hosting, Paystack for payments). Your product sheet stays in your own Google Drive.

Deleting your data

Email hello@ojaoba.africa from the address you signed up with and we will delete your shop and its details. Your Google Sheet stays in your Drive, and you can delete it yourself at any time. You can also remove Ojaoba’s access in your Google Account permissions.

Changes

If we change this page in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell shop owners by email.
